We don't ask for a membership fee to be paid, but you do have to fill in a membership form, and that information is entered onto the charities ‘Register of Members’. It is important for the Charity to know all the groups, families and organisations that benefit from its work, so you are asked to let us know who else will benefit from your membership. This also helps us show the supporters of the Charity just how far we are reaching into the community of Wiltshire.
Members must sign an agreement not to use any of the resources they take from the Scrapstore in items that they sell. To do so will invalidate the membership.
To join, simply complete a membership form when you first visit the Centre.
Members visiting the Scrapstore may fill a bag, and we ask for an additional donation of between £6 - £12 per bag.
We ask members not to stockpile goods but encourage them to ask if they might need more of a particular item (which we will try to supply).
2) No resources can be taken from the Scrapstore and then sold, either whole or as part of another item. To do so could result in your membership being removed. The companies that supply us would be very unhappy about this and might stop supplying us with resources. Please ensure you respect this rule.
The current financial situation that everyone is facing has been a difficult time for everyone including charities like ours. So, we now have Gift Aid forms in case anyone who benefits from the Scrapstore services is able to make a donation.
Making a Gift Aid declaration is an easy way of allowing Wiltshire Scrapstore to reclaim the tax you have already paid. Anyone who is a UK income or capital gains taxpayer can make a Gift Aid declaration. If you are unsure whether you qualify, please contact us.
One Gift Aid declaration will cover all your future donations.
You can cancel your Gift Aid declaration at any time by contacting the Scrapstore. Please also notify us if your tax circumstances change, or if you change name / address.
To maximise your tax giving, your Gift Aid declaration will be automatically backdated 6 years, as permitted by the Gift Aid Scheme. If you have begun paying taxes more recently, or would prefer not to backdate the declaration, please contact us.
Please click here for our Gift Aid form. If you are able to make a donation, however small, it will be put to very good use. The great thing about Gift Aid is, if you are a tax payer your gift is increased by 25p for every pound without it costing you more, so it is a good way to make the pennies go further. For example, if you donate £10.00 and are eligible for Gift Aid, then your donation could actually be worth £12.50 to us.
Thank you for your support - remember every penny really does add up.
The Two Golden Rules of Membership
1) We ask that members take responsibility for the scrap they are taking, in terms of the ages and abilities of the children and young people that they are working with.
2) No resources can be taken from the Scrapstore and then sold, either whole or as part of another item. To do so could result in your membership being removed. The companies that supply us would be very unhappy about this and might stop supplying us with resources. Please ensure you respect this rule.
