about the Trafford Tenant's and Resident's Federation

The Trafford Tenants & Residents Federation is a voluntary organisation representing residents across Trafford. We offer independent advice and support and take up issues that could be affecting communities throughout the Borough of Trafford. We are an umbrella group that represent residents' needs. This includes individual residents. The aim of the Federation is to ensure service providers in Trafford are working together to improve neighbourhoods.

The Federation has a key partner, Trafford Housing Trust, together we aim to work to improve the quality of lives for Tenants living in Trust properties. Apart from working with our key partners tenants of other registered social landlords who have homes in the Trafford area are also welcome to be kept fully informed on what we are doing.

Formed in the early 90’s, the federation provided an opportunity for established tenant and resident groups to share their experiences and knowledge with others.

The growth in our membership across 13 years has allowed us to work in close partnership with tenant and residents groups, helping them to develop new skills and confidence. Together we can provide the residents of Trafford with a united voice to negotiate and liaise with the boroughs main housing and service providers.

We are a democratic run organisation run by tenants and residents from across the borough. We represent the needs of everyone, which often includes community groups, individual tenants & residents. We offer support to active and newly established tenants and residents groups.

We aim to work together with service providers in Trafford to improve neighbourhoods. This can be achieved by getting more local people involved in the consultation and decision making processes.

How the Federation will be doing this?

By holding local meetings with residents at strategic venues across the Borough
Gathering your views and passing on these to our partners
Establishing performance indicators
Encouraging resident and community involvement
