Our meetings are held in line with our service level agreement, we aim to hold these for the benefit of all the member groups that we represent. the frequency of these meetings mean that we can organise meetings to be held at various locations across the borough.
You are encouraged to become involved in these meetings to help make the decisions and to find out what is happening with other community groups across the borough, at these meetings you'll get to find out about any important things that may affect you.
Many of the venues that we choose will have good transport links, making it easy for you to get to and providing you with the opportunity to participate. We can also help towards the cost of any reasonable travel arrangements by giving us a travel receipt at the end of the meeting.
Standards of meetings
Our meetings are intended to allow tenant and resident groups around the borough to become involved and hear about the achievements and progress of the day to day running of the Federation or providing you with the opportunity to become involved in the decision making process. It is essential that we provide our members with full information before any meeting takes place.
We will do our best to:
Make sure that information is sent out to our member groups in advance.
Provide you with minutes of previous meetings before meetings
Send you copies of agendas and any relevant information prior to the meetings taking place
Encourage you to participate at these meetings
provide refreshments
Have a commitment to reimburse expenses such as travel, parking and childcare and caring costs
Make sure that venues are held in a non smoking environment
Hold meetings at accessible locations
Make sure that meetings are conducted in a fair and democratic way
Have a code of conduct for meetings
Special needs
Most of venues that we choose are accessible to people who may experience problems such as an illness or disability. If you require any assistance or need assistance we would ask you to get in contact with us prior to any meetings taking place so we may be able to make special arrangements for you.
Child care & caring responsibilities
We are committed to encourage those people in the community with child care or caring responsibilities, if you have these and you would like to attend any of our meetings we will look at meeting these costs.
