The Chairperson
Helps guide the group or association achieve its aims
Chairs the meetings
Prepare agendas with the rest of the committee
Check that tasks allocated to committee members are carried out
Inform committee and group of what is happening
Encourage good teamwork
The Secretary
Keeps all the relevant information to the group
Write and receive correspondence, raise issues during meetings
Informs everyone of time, date and place of meetings
Takes minutes at meetings, noting who attends and what decisions are taken and by whom
Assist the Chairperson with follow up work between meetings
Ensure that meetings are held in line with the groups constitution
helps prepare leaflets
Books venues and helps with any publicity
Keep a membership/mailing list
The Treasurer
Opens a bank account
Pays any money received into the groups bank account
Pays any bills keeping a record of the money spent
Keeps petty cash and books for any expenditure
Keeps an account of all money going in or out
Prepares statements to the Committee and at the Annual General Meeting

Committee Meetings
Most committees normally meet frequently. Make sure at the end of each meeting that an action list is drawn up providing details of the responsibilities that each committee member has been assigned to do
As a committee member you must remember to be responsible, this means that you should do the following.
Attend meetings or send your apologies
Turn up on time with any relevant information for the group
Listens but also contribute to the discussions
Challenge any form of discrimination
Respect others
Respect Confidentiality
Helps with newsletter articles
Make sure that you represent the views of the local community
