The garden seemed unusually quiet partly due to the increased presence of a male and female Sparrowhawk. The male had taken to sitting in a nearby willow and making his raids from there. When the sparrows dived for cover in the Leylandii hedge, it would perch on the outside trying to get at the birds cowering inside.
Today, it went one step further when it flew off the hedge and surveyed it before hopping underneath to try and get to them from below! Ingenious, but still fruitless.
These shots were snapped through the office window to record the event.
