It was very nervous and frequently crouched in little depressions in the mud. Here you can see it is crouched down on its tibia - the ochre-coloured foot just visible under the lower chest. When crouched it would cock its head sideways obviously looking upwards - sure signs of an avian predator - Kestrel, Sparrowhawk and Hobby are all regular in the area.
