Waxwing
Bombycilla garrulus
Crown Lakes Country Park, Farcet, Huntingdonshire
10 January 2003

A frustrating hour was spent trying to photo these birds either distantly or against the sun, when one bird suddenly flew over our heads and landed only metres away with the sun behind me. I swung the scope round and quickly snapped three frames off and this rates as one of my best ever photos.

Found by Howard Butler but had been seen earlier in the day by another local birdwatcher who didn't think to report them!
