I was unhappily watching England v Samoa in the Rugby World Cup (England were getting beaten) when a text from from bird finder extraordinaire Kevin Durose brightened up my day: Green-winged Teal at Star Pit.
I missed the one (same bird probably) earlier in the year, so I headed straight up there. It didn't take much finding and performed well. I managed to get these record shots as the bird was quite distant.
My only disappointment was that I had grilled this pit yesterday and it was either not there or I overlooked it! Doh!
