Golden Plover
Pluvialis apricaria
Hampton Vale, Peterborough - 3 March 2002

Part of a flock of 600 birds using a traditional staging post on their way north. Only difference was that this year, their staging post was now in the middle of the new Hampton Vale housing development! Didn't seem to bother the birds too much. By spring 2003, the development had advanced to such an extent that birds could no longer use it.
