I had been working this fen near to my home regularly during May in search of migrants. Several droves were inaccessible as my car kept thumping the ground when I tried to drive down them. This led to me ditching my beloved Nissan Primera 2.0 for a Toyota Rav-4 2.0 - a four-wheel drive with plenty of ground clearance! The result was immediate. On the first day out in the Rav, I went down one of the droves I had neglected for several weeks and found a trip of eight Dotterel! Fantastic!
