One of those sought-after species most birders hope to attract to their garden feeding station at some point.
Quite unexpectedly, this male appeared in the garden when the weather was warm and the number of birds were very low (only c.120 birds compared to the 450+ during January). It spent only a day feeding below the feeders with the other finches and sparrows, and what was presumably the same bird was again seen several times on 18-19 March.
