Pedal Power is a cycle recycling project set up in 2002 by Furniture Matters, Lancaster Youth and Community and Thumbprint. It is now managed and administered by Furniture Matters.
Pedal Power provides volunteering and training opportunities to people living in Lancaster and district, helping them gain practical skills repairing, recycling and re-using unwanted cycles.
Thumbprint worked to help people with learning disabilities to get involved with Pedal Power. As part of that we started a mentoring project – which helped us develop our practice of Mentoring.
Explain It! did a lot of work in developing the accessible information in use at Pedal Power.
