Golf courses close to Ivybridge

There are more than 50 golf courses in Devon. For the sake of marital harmony, I haven't played all of them, but suggest you do a little research prior to commencing your holiday in the South Hams. The length, price and quality of the courses tends to vary though, for the keen golfer, there is no shortage of challenge. From heathland and moorland to links and clifftop, the courses of Devon offer that strangely alluring mix of pleasure, trial and tribulation for the high and low handicapper alike.

Rather than spoiling the fun of researching and selecting the courses you plan to play,(there are plenty of websites to help you do that, such as Golf in Devon and Golfing in Devon), I have listed below the courses in & around South Hams. To assist you further, I have also included the distance of each course from Esmé's Cottage.

If you happen to venture further afield on a day trip to play golf on the North Devon coast, consider Royal North Devon. Though some 70 miles from Ivybridge, RND (as it is known) claims to be the 'cradle of English golf'. A sort of St Andrews of the South, if you like. Contact details are included in the list below.
