Val and Ian Challis bought the Woodlands Hotel and, along with
their daughter and son-in-law, moved to Ilfracombe in December
2001. The hotel was in poor condition and needed to be completely
renovated. After a very long and cold North Devon winter,
work began in April 2002 to completely refurbish the premises.
A new roof, central heating, rewiring and
new plumbing to provide en-suite facilities throughout, along
with tasteful décor were among the many undertakings
which were completed by the start of 2004. |
The gardens have
been completely re-landscaped and now provide stunning views.
This is an ideal place to sit and unwind and simply enjoy
the peaceful surroundings.
After nearly two years of works, the Woodlands
has finally been restored to its original glory nestling within
the famous Torrs Walk area of Ilfracombe.
