2003 sees the centenary of St Vincent's opening in its present sight in Yew Tree Lane, West Derby. The purpose built school was opened in 1901 and had separate classes for blind and partially sighted children. Boys and girls were not permitted to speak to each other as they passed on corridors and had to face opposite ends of the dining room. How things have changed!!!

Our celebrations this year have so far included a Mass at Liverpool's Metropolitan Cathedral. The day's celebrations continued at school with a disco, bouncy castle, badge making, quiz and a balloon race. In September a dinner dance was held at the Crown Plaza Hotel in January and the school was featured on Radio Merseyside at Christmas.

Future events to look out for include a concert by the music department. (Date to be announced) a Celebrity Garden Party on 11th July incorporating prize giving and on 23rd August a Corporate Golf Day.
