Welcome to the Sherfield English Parish web site.
The primary purpose of the site is to let people in the village know what is happening in the village, with a focus on the Parish Council and the Parish Plan project.
This is the official site for all Parish Council publications. Click on the 'Parish Council' button above to see meeting minutes, agendas and other information.
Other pages provide contact information for the various groups, clubs, classes and official bodies in the village, and in the course of time we will add pages on the village's history and natural features. If you have any material which you would like to see on the site (such as photographs, club archives, etc.) call John Hartley on 342406, or email john"at"sherfieldenglish.info

Two new businesses have opened in the village this year: Fishing lakes at Dandy's Ford (which we will feature next month), and new Tea Rooms called 'The Bramleys' at Hill Farm.
The tea room is run by Sarah and Ellie, who were previously running the popular 'Conservatory' tea room at Gilbert's Nursery. The new tea room is situated at Hill Farm on Branches Lane - on the same site as the Caravan Park. They offer a wide range of home-made food, ranging from hot lunches to cream teas. They are open from 9 till 5pm every day except Monday, although they are open on Bank Holidays.

A note from the Parish Plan Manager
"The Sherfield English Parish Plan was recently endorsed by the 'Local Strategic Partnership'. Information about this is available from their web site: www.yourtestvalley.com
The Second Issue of the Parish Plan was published at the beginning of the year, following the external consultation stage. A small number of changes and additions have been made to the Plan, the main things being the addition of an index of local businesses, a reference page for local groups and clubs and a map of all 'Sites of Interest for Nature Conservation' in the parish.
Click on the 'Parish Plan' tab above for details of how to obtain a printed copy, or to download a PDF version.
Current activity is focussed on our main Action Plans. See the 'Parish Plan' page for details.
The Parish Plan is a 'live' plan, not something set in stone, so if you read something in it and a thought occurs to you, please take the trouble to pass your thought on - my email and phone number are above.
The Parish Plan page has further information and download links.
