Careers and Job Vacancies - Sandwell

Working in social care requires commitment, adaptability, flexibility, and a liking for people. Previous experience in care is not essential; the most important qualities we look for in our staff are kindness and understanding. These qualities will be supplemented by a professional comprehensive training package to help all staff become skilled professional Home Carers.

Carers employed by Sandwell undergo a thorough recruitment and induction procedure, part of which is spent working alongside an experienced member of staff. All carers receive recognised ongoing social care training and updates.

You will be encouraged to undertake a Level 2 or 3 NVQ training in health and social care. Individual client-specific training is arranged for carers if the care to be supplied is particularly complex.

There are career pathways within SCCT for those who wish to advance their career. All training is funded by SCCT.

Job Description:

As part of our workforce strategy we are seeking to appoint suitably qualified Tutors to deliver both in-house training and commercial work in the following accredited programmes:
Prevention and Control of Infection
Dementia
Nutrition, Dietary and Hydration Needs
Mental capacity and Deprivation of liberty
Health and safety
Moving and Handling
Emergency First Aid awareness
Medication Safe Handling and Awareness
Safeguarding Adults
Dignity and Equality

The post holder must be vocationally competent, possess a teaching qualification and will need to demonstrate enthusiasm and innovative approaches towards high quality teaching and learning
