STAA's Philosophy
STAA aims to enrich the quality of life and enhance the well being of older people by providing positive arts experiences that stimulate ideas and creativity.
STAA believes that engaging in a creative activity brings benefits to the persons involved such as promoting feelings of self esteem and well being.
STAA believes that all people have the right to have the creative, spiritual and social aspects of their lives valued and encouraged to grow. STAA believes that whatever the long term benefits of creative intervention it is still valid for a person to experience a pleasant and enjoyable activity for its own sake, for the pleasure of doing it.
STAA promotes the use of the arts as a therapeutic tool for healing for all with mental health needs.
STAA's aims to sustain, develop and innovate to improve the quality of life of older people in Sandwell.
STAA aims to be the best provider of arts interventions for older people with mental health needs and to sustain and develop the services it currently provides ensuring they are relevant and beneficial to the older people of Sandwell. STAA aims to innovate and develop new ways to use the arts to improve the quality of life of older people.
