Committee

Due to the dwindling numbers on the Daisy Hill F.C. committee they need to boost their numbers. We are asking local people who want to see their local club succeed and are passionate about helping them achieve this goal. This is not just about helping with some of the tasks on matchdays but having a voice within the club to shape the future of it so we can progress. Some of the tasks you maybe able to help with are -: producing the programme on matchdays - 75% of this is already in place each week but would need to include managers views, team selection, history of the opposition and player profile, other tasks would be to help promote matchday fixtures to try to increase crowd numbers and also help with fundraising ideas and successful completion of ideas. This is a semi-professional standard club and play in the FA Cup. We also have a reserve team and Youth team that play in the North West Youth Alliance the opposition including the likes of Altrincham,Leigh RMI and Morecambe etc. We have just set-up a Daisy Hill in the Community programme to help coach local youngsters from primary schools in Westhoughton and have other ideas to help in community ventures. PLEASE DO NOT BE PUT OFF. We need your help and skills to move the club forward. It has a history of over 100 years and a lot of people past and present are working hard to preserve this heritage. We have 18 year olds playing in the 1st team at the moment whose fathers, grandfathers and great grandfathers have played here. We want to give local young lads the chance to play at a higher level. Please help us to help the community. You will receive a very warm welcome and you will be surprised at the level of football. We are presently trying to get the local community down to matches by offering a free ticket to children accompanied by a paying adult. We have distributed these to local schools and through letterboxes of the local estates. If you haven,t received one you can download and print from our website. PLEASE,PLEASE COME AND HELP US. Contact the secretary,Bob Naylor on 01942 813720 or via his e-mail address on the website. Or the 1st team manager,Tommy Moore on 01942 790135. We would love to hear from you.
