St John the Baptist Church, Clarborough, Nottinghamshire

The lath and plaster ceiling between the beams had begun to fall. Sections of the ceiling had become dangerous and needed replacing. The 200-year-old laths were taken down and replaced with riven oak laths. The ceiling was re-plastered using haired lime plaster - in this case it was horsehair. The ceiling was finished with our fine finish lime plaster, which is made from our lime putty and ancient fine river-bed sand.

Building work on churches and other ecclesiastical buildings needs very high standards.

We respect the church premises and take steps to maintain a clean and tidy working environment. We are familiar with the procedures and protocols that surround building projects on church properties.
