The roots of the business go back to 1973 when Philip Tyler set up Philip Tyler Limited to trade plastic raw materials. Philip had already gained considerable experience of the industry and was very much a “pioneer” in plastics recycling with his involvement in Michael Stevens Limited going back to the early 1960s.

The company quickly gained an enviable reputation for its standard of service and professionalism and expanded through recruitment of John Leslie – Smith in 1979. Roger Baynham in 1986 and Jason Pughe in 1987.

Philip Tyler Polymers Limited was created in 1994 on Philip’s retirement. Both Helen Caldwell and Mike Gray were recruited at this time to provide accounting and logistics expertise to the company and to create  the core management team which exists to this day.

Over recent years Philip Tyler Polymers Limited has continued to expand its range and breadth of activities, achieving steady growth through the development of its business model with has enabled an ever increasing range of recycling services to be available through the development with strategic partners and capital investment.

Philip Tyler Polymers Limited is proud to count amongst its clients a significant number of the UK’s major plastics manufacturing groups .  As a founder member of the BPF Recycling Council it is at the forefront of the industry and is committed to meeting the challenges created by legislation and client expectations.
