The roots of the business go back to 1973 when Philip Tyler set up Philip Tyler Limited to trade plastic raw materials. Philip had already gained considerable experience of the industry and was very much a “pioneer” in plastics recycling with his involvement in Michael Stevens Limited going back to the early 1960s.
The company quickly gained an enviable reputation for its standard of service and professionalism and expanded through recruitment of John Leslie – Smith in 1979. Roger Baynham in 1986 and Jason Pughe in 1987.
Philip Tyler Polymers Limited was created in 1994 on Philip’s retirement. Both Helen Caldwell and Mike Gray were recruited at this time to provide accounting and logistics expertise to the company and to create the core management team which exists to this day. |
