The Notting Hill Print Collection

December 2004

The Notting Hill Print Collection is an exciting new initiative by the Notting Hill Gate Improvements Group. The Collection is a series of limited edition prints, photographs and multiples for and about Notting Hill. It seeks to draw upon and strengthen the rich past and present artistic culture in the area. Ultimately, the Collection will comprise 12 works, of which seven are currently available.

The commission is centred on artists affiliated with the area who have designed new prints with subject matters specific to Notting Hill. In particular, it brings together artists who lived and worked in the area in the 1960’s when they were at the forefront of establishing the Pop Art movement. Having first made their names in the area, today these artists have gone on to achieve major international status. In this ground-breaking commission, these artists are once again reunited. The resultant Collection is not only brilliant but immensely innovative and a great deal of fun. The project is being undertaken in collaboration with the Royal College of Art where many of these artists were students in the 1960’s.
Proceeds from The Collection will support the ongoing work of the Notting Hill Gate Improvements Group and the Royal College of Art student bursary fund.
From December 7th 2004 through February 2005 the prints are being showcased at Guesthouse West, 163-165 Westbourne Grove, a principal sponsor of the project.
The initial phase of the collection includes the following seven works. Prints are in limited editions of 55 and are available for purchase in size 22” x 30”.
