| Now Showing Gallery | |
| Two years ago Mr Andrew
Edwards, of Commercial Land Ltd, very kindly made No 99 Notting Hill Gate,
then an unlet premises, available to the Notting Hill Gate Improvements
Group for use as a Gallery to publicise the work of the Group and to
provide a venue for public consultation on the Group's proposals for
improving Notting Hill Gate. The Gallery has now had to cease operation (March 2001) as the property is on the market for reletting. The Fantasy Gate was the last project at the Gallery and the results of the extended artist run consultation exercise will be going up soon. See Gallery page for details of exhibitions held. |

| Artists' Progress | |
| Two of the artists who NHIG supported by enabling them to exhibit in the Now Showing Gallery have now gone on to higher things. Ben Brett has an exhibit in the Tate Modern at the moment with a video piece as part of the Century City Exhibition. Chris Mew has just completed a curation of twelve new works at the V&A Museum over the last three months as part of the Brand New Show. | |

| The Gate of Many Colours | |
| The more recently painted multi-coloured panels of David Game House have added a touch of sparkle to the previously rather "grey" feeling of this section of Notting Hill Gate. The colour scheme was put forward by NHIG after redecoration had already commenced and the lessees very kindly co-operated, with a contribution from the NHIG funds, in overpainting the panels with the colour scheme produced by Maggie Baynes, an architect member of the NHIG Executive Committee. The effect on the character of the Gate has been much welcomed. It is significant that some of the most impressive changes that NHIG has achieved have been implemented at relatively low cost. See Completed Projects page on menu for illustration. | |
