Power Supply
Units - PSU
Modern power
supply units can be up to and exceed a 1000 Watt power
output especially if your computer system requires a
dual graphic card (SLi or Crossfire) setup - however
most computers wouldn't need anything quite as powerful
as this, Most Standard PSU's start from around 370 Watts
We would
recommend when looking for a new or replacement PSU
don't cheat yourself and buy one that's cheap as you
will find they simply do not last very long looking at
PSU's with a starting budget of around £25 - £30 should
provide you with a fairly capable unit, however PSU's
that have a 800 Watt or higher output start from
somewhere in the region of £80 - £100
And don't
forget that your PSU will be running every second that
your PC is switched on and if noise is an issue then
consider finding a PSU that has a 120mm cooling fan
which significantly reduce noise levels
