In January 2016 we introduced a new method of treating difficult keloid scars with a freezing technique known as intralesional cryotherapy, or Cryoshape (c). This is a painless procedure where a needle is inserted into the centre of your scar under local anaessthetic. The needle is then run through with liquid nitrogen until the scar is frosted, and over a three week period the scar shrinks and will often drop off.

Below is a picture of an ear keloid before and three months after treatment. The scar had been present for 18 years and had failed to respond to all conventonial treatments.
