After many months of fund raising effort and organisation, Gaydon has finally got its Village Store. I am very proud and pleased to announce that as from Saturday 16th May 2010 Gaydon Village Store is open for business.

As we settle in to the new year we are able to look back with satisfaction at the progress made by the village shop. Just 12 months ago the shop was still a dream and the building itself empty. How far we have come in that time.

Now we have experienced our first Christmas and with the recent poor weather the shop was used by more individuals than at anytime since it opened. Now that these extra people have found us and found how convenient we are it is hoped that they will continue to use us.

Everyone is reeling from the suddenly hike in petrol prices and so now is an ideal time to stop and think before jumping in the car. Think does the Village Store stock what I want? Can I buy local rather than travel, even to Kineton?

According to the RAC a return journey from Gaydon to Kineton can cost on average £2.54 so whilst the shop maybe a penny or two dearer it’s still worth it. Plus we are a community based shop so all our profits are returned to the villagers.
