Since 2005 Mastersport has been delivering sport and physical activity solutions to support local authorities, local clubs and the wider Bexhill and Sussex communities. For the last five years the company has delivered a summer sports activity programme in Rother, provided Boccia sessions in Lewes and Wealden and sports clubs in Eastbourne, Bexhill, Battle, Heathfield and Hailsham.
We have grown over the five years with support and funding from a wide range of organisations these have included local authority grants, Awards for All lottery, local donations and the National Health Service. Other support has been received from Sussex Police, The Bexhill Schools Consortium.
BOCCIA
One of our specialist sports is Boccia. This is a game similar to the french game of Boule, but played indoors with soft rubber balls. We have found this game suitable for older people and people with disabilities and we have developed five different clubs across Sussex.
More recently we have developed our knowledge and coaching abilities to be able to offer a wide range of Sea, Coarse and Game Fishing activities.
These include Angling and the Environment 12 week courses, Taster Days and School Holiday Programmes..
This year has seen us organise and lead an angling short break for young people with disabilities. We received an award for this form the ESCVYS in recognition of our achievement.
