Georgian  1720-1830

 

  • This period covers the reigns of the first four Kings of that name. Generally delicate,graceful and with little decoration it also includes the Rococo style (1740-1760)  Plain Georgian,& Regency styles that developed towards the end of the period. Victorian (1840-1901)

 

  • More ornate and heavier than the earlier styles Victorian silver has gained in popularity in recent years and we are pleased to be able to include many quality pieces in our stock.Details and photos available on request.

20th Century (1902-1999)

 

  • From Edwardian times to the end of the 20th century silver design moved from the ornate to the simpler often very modern styles typical of the 1960's & 70's.Unlike many other firms Marston Barrett include many of these unusual pieces in our stock.

Present Day.

 

  • Although Marston Barrett still specialise in all types of private commissions  the days of new huge silver services have for the most part passed and modern tastes are for the smaller pieces. Our core range of modern pieces is extensive and includes photograph frames, coasters,letter openers,napkin rings,candlesticks and christening gifts. All of these we keep in stock at all times.
