  What's on
This "All In London" website includes lots of places for visitors to go which are completely free apart from the fares to get there.
  Ten best tourist attractions
This "visitlondon" website contains a short list of leading attractions, with locations and descriptions - including London's top tourist draw, the London Eye.  Another top draw is the Natural History Museum.  A few fascinating hours spent in this monumental cathedral of knowledge leaves most visitors in little doubt as to the real story of how we all came to be here.
  Ten worst tourist attractions
This "londonp" website contains a short list of what they regard as over-rated attractions.  One they got wrong, though, is the one nearest to the White Hart Hotel, which is Greenwich Observatory.  True, that's not much to look at in itself - but that misses out on what a lovely place it is generally if you visit on a sunny summer's day.  Start at the Blackheath Common end and there's a nice walk along a tree-lined avenue, occasionally the Blackheath cricket team is playing matches on the left-hand side, occasionally there's a brass band playing in the open-air bandstand on the right-hand side.  At the end of the avenue, it opens out, revealing not just the underwhelming observatory and Meridian line, but also a unique, high-level view across the River Thames to the City and way out over the whole of north London.  That has to be followed by another pleasant walk down to the lower park and out into Greenwich village, which is impressive with its little dock, the Cutty Sark exhibit, a number of maritime-themed shops, an enclosed courtyard with craft shops, restaurants, bars and, on market days, is bustling with lively, quality craft-stalls.  There's more to see than meets the eye sometimes!
