A series of 6 photocopiable books for KS 2 and the early terms of KS 3 providing additional support for maths in everyday tasks and situations.
Each book contains 7 units, each presented over 3 pages. The first page provides a detailed picture. The second page provides simple maths questions based mainly on observation of the picture. The third page provides more complex problems. The series has been modelled on the very successful Looking and Thinking series.
Three more titles have been added this year to complete the series.
This series of books is designed to supplement a teacher’s scheme of work for history at Key Stage 3. As well as helping to develop the historical skills of interpretation, enquiry and communication, the work aims to promote basic reading and writing skills.
The activities are designed for special needs groups working with support assistants or groups working in a classroom situation. When the worksheets are used as the focus of group activities, they provide opportunities for discussion, verbal rehearsal and consolidation of factual material.
The books are intended as support but are not intended to be used as a core teaching programme. Tasks are set at a variety of levels so that teachers can usually find work to suit the needs of all pupils.
