Stop practicing in the bathroom mirror or shower cubicle and come and exercise the larynx where it will be much more welcome and deserving. With no formal experience required and no embarrassing auditions, you'll wonder why you hadn't joined 200 years earlier!! With great singing, banter, camaraderie and enjoyment, you'll experience what you've always craved for if you love singing.....an audience that will appreciate your efforts (and the away trips ain't bad either!) So come on, give it a whirl!

Would you like to be involved with an organisation that offers friendship and fellowship? have the opportunity to undertake British and foreign tours to places such as Scotland and Eastbourne, France, Germany, Holland and Canada or the opportunity to sing along with ten thousand other voices, performing with artists such as Shirley Bassey.

Can you imagined what it must be like to sing in front of an audience of 200,000 people in St. Peter's Square with Pope John Paul 11 joining in with you? or be able to perform in front of a capacity crowd at Cardiff Arm's Park, prior to a rugby international, appear on the world stage at events such as the opening and closing ceremonies of the Rugby World Cup at the new Millennium Stadium or have the opportunity of singing with world renowned international artiste such as our patron Robert Lloyd or Peter Karrie voted the worlds favorite Phantom of the Opera.


The choir is now looking for prospective new members, so why not come along to our rehearsals and find out what we are all about.
You DO NOT need to have a solo singing voice and you
WILL NOT be required to have an embarrassing voice test in front of other people, just a short 5 minutes with our musical director to enable him to place you in the most appropriate singing section, if you are embarrassed to come along on your own not knowing any one, then please bring a friend with you as there is always plenty of room for all.

You will find that Abertillery is progressive choir with many goals and ambitions still to be realized. New tours at home and abroad are already being considered along with many applications for concert requests.

You could become apart of the choir's future by becoming a choir member so why not come along to rehearsals held at Bryngwyn School every Tuesday and Friday evening 7.00p.m. until 9.00p.m. and find out what Abertillery Orpheus is all about. You can be assured of a warm friendly welcome together with what we hope will be the start of a long and exciting membership.
