Charity Concert by choir

Abertillery Orpheus Male Choir delighted an audience at Crickhowell's St Edmonds Church recently in a fund raising concert in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Compered by Rev William Rutter, the evening featured appearances by soloists Rachel Meacham, an A-Level student at Crickhowell High School and Cardiff High School student Jonathan Cohen. Both young singers have appeared in productions with the Welsh National Youth Opera and aim for a career in music. Jonathan in musical theatre and Rachel in Opera.

The choir who performed a varied and popular programme was conducted by its assistant musical director Stephen Bard and accompanied by Llangynidr based pianist Penny Hughes.

'All proceeds from the concert were donated to the Marie Curie Nursing Service in South Wales'
