This committee meets monthly throughout the year, covering matters concerned with consultation on local planning as well as licensing, street cleansing and street lighting.

Law and Order (Chairman: Madeline Elsdon;

Members regularly attend meetings of the police consultative groups of Westminster and RBKC and serve on two ward panels where priorities are set for the police. Police officers from both borough's safer neighbourhood teams and safer park teams as well as members from both councils attend committee meetings. Committee meetings include local residents and representatives from the local business community. Our concerns include knife and gun crime, counter-terrorism, begging, residential burglary, theft from cars, pickpocketing, anti-social behaviour and other "quality of life" issues.

Transport and Environment (Chairman: Simon Birkett; email:

This committee usually meets four times a year to discuss transport and related issues. Key current issues include air quality, the traffic impact of the Number 1 Hyde Park development (previously Bowater House); Exhibition Road plans; parking and bus lanes; noise from the London Underground; South Carriage Drive road closures and through traffic problems.

Social and Events (Chairman: Rachael Stearns; Email:
SocialAndEvents@knightsbridgeassociation.org.uk)
This committee organises social events and visits to places of interest for Knightsbridge Association members most recently a black tie dinner at Mosimann's Club. Upcoming events inclide a tour of Clarence House with tea afterwards at the Reform Club on 24th September and the AGM in the refurbished auditorium of the Royal College of Music on 10th December. Examples in recent years include a dinner and historical/musical evening at St. Paul's Cathedral; dinner at the Guildhall; lunch and a tour of the Hyde Park Barracks.
