DO's & Don'ts

DON'T stay talking in Direct Messaging with someone who asks too many personal questions!

All the Young Tweeps!

If you, or anyone you know is a young Tweep, put your age in your Profile, so people will know if they talking to an adult or not.

Tips #1

Remember to keep in contact with your followers, and if you can, remember what you talked about last.

Because it's not all LOL's & RT's you know!

Tips #2

NEVER GIVE PEOPLE UR MOBILE PHONE NUMBER UNLESS ABSOLUTELY 100% SURE YOU KNOW WHO THEY ARE!

Ask someone you trust if you can trust the people asking you for such info.

Advice for the young and young at heart

Family Frienly Hints, tips on how to stay safe on Twitter and the Internet, without appearing to be condescending.

Well I've been involved with the World of Twitter for a month now, and in that time I have met some nice Tweeps & Tweepesses, but equally have noticed some bad behaviors and some dodgy goings on.

I'm enjoying the whole experience, and long, looong hours and so now I'd like to present to you, a fair whack of info to help your enjoyment of Twitter, Tweedeck & Internet go a little further.

Thanks to my fellow Tweeps for suggestions!

Disclaimer: This stuff is mostly based on my own experiences.

If you are not happy with anything I've put, please give me good reason and I'll alter it.

Dodgy goings on

SPAMMERS and HATERS

First, ignore the haters - it's because they hate themselves and they have nothing better to do. They get jealous over other peoples lives, but they don't see we're are all part of the same bigger picture.

If ignoring them doesn't help, show them TwitterLove.

Use Direct Messaging (DM) to contact your mates for support, and ask them to show them the Love too!

See how quickly they dsappear!

Don't just block someone because they said something that annoyed you - they may just be having an off day, because everyone has off days.

Businessman Health Warning!

Some busines people don't take too kindly if you do a play on words of their ads, or send comments about their links and ads back to them. Buyer Beware!

Though I think they should all just take it on the chin, as it's spreading their word, surely?

Don't be taken in by anyone that says "you are doing really well. Just keep doing what you are doing. You are clever, you!".

They're toying with your emotions to get you onside to sell for them.

Your best bet for a good social networking experience?

See those people that help you now and again with your projects and stuff and don't ask for anything in return, except friendship, a few giggles and a nice natter?

FOLLOW THEM!

You won't be disappointed!
