Originally formed as Everett Edgcumbe, the company has been at the forefront of test instrument design since it's formation in the year 1900.

Since then the company name has changed to Edgcumbe Instruments Ltd and the Metrohm brand name formed. The Metrohm brand is held in the highest esteem internationally for product quality, innovation and value for money.

As of May 2007, following a management buy-out, the Metrohm range of High Voltage products designed by Edgcumbe Instruments are now manufactured by High Voltage Instruments Ltd, a company formed with the core focus of High Voltage test equipment.

The present day company occupies a spacious modern design and manufacturing complex in the Ibrox Business Park in Glasgow.
