A member of York theatre company, Jimmy Beck made several performances to great acclaim in the late 1950's early 1960's. This particular production featured Jimmy as Mat Burke (a stoker).

Contemporaries who co-starred along with Jimmy in this production was future 1961 chart topper John Leyton (Johnny Remember Me), Trevor Bannister (later star of Are You Being Served and The Dustbinmen) and Jean Alexander (later Hilda Ogden of Coronation Street).

The size of the programme was merely four pages as opposed to eight, this was due a printers strike in which the programme was "necessarily curtailed"

Written and researched by Andy Howells.
