Mr. West from head office visits Swallows bank in Walmington On Sea, but during an air raid Captain Mainwaring (the Bank Manager) ensures everyone goes undercover.

Returning from the shelter, both Mainwaring and Wilson fall into a hole in the bank vault and are left holding a German bomb. The rest of the platoon then congregate in the bank to take immediate action and perform a rescue of their commanding officer's.

Cast:
Arthur Lowe (Captain Mainwaring) , John Le Mesurier (Sergeant Wilson), Clive Dunn (Lance Corporal Jones), John Laurie (Private Frazer), Ian Lavender (Private Pike), Bill Pertwee (The ARP Warden), John Barron (Mr. West), Frank Thornton (Captain Rogers), Elizabeth Morgan (Janet King), John Snagge (BBC Announcer)

Now, Pay Attention...

Perhaps one of the fondest remembered episodes of Dad's Army, the radio version, again differs slightly to what went before on television, perhaps because the central action of this episode centres around Mainwaring and Wilson who are holding the bomb in the bank vault.

Although niether the characters of Godfrey or Walker appear, Jones, Frazer and Pike are in great prominence. Also listen out for the only radio appearance of Janet King (played here by Elizabeth Morgan). Miss King never featured in the TV version of this episode but was a regular throughout the first TV Series when played by Caroline Dowdeswell. Famous guest stars for this episode are John Barron as Mr.West (C.J. from Reginald Perrin) and Frank Thornton (Captain Peacock from Are You Being Served).
