Managing Sex Offender Work

This three-day event will provide an intensive programme for those who have responsibility for the management and supervision of adult or child sex offenders. The course is suitable only for participants who have undertaken the Sex Offender Awareness course; participants will be required to complete a questionnaire to assess suitability for course attendance.

During the three-day course members will:

  • Receive information on sex offender designations and definitions

  • Explore participants' knowledge, attitudes and beliefs regarding Sex Offending and those who offend

  • Identify responsibilities and definitions of boundaries in working with offenders and victims

  • By exercise and discussion, identify risk - facts and perception

  • Identify legislation and support mechanisms 

  • Identify and rehearse grooming scenarios and how to deal with these

  • Rehearse supervision and management examples

  • Explore and identify issues and techniques in working with adult survivors.

26th November to 28th November 2007

9.30 am – 4.30 pm each day

Location: Knuston Hall, Northamptonshire

Delegate Fee £350 (ex. VAT)

Accommodation –  BBE on request (£52 per night + VAT)

The event will combine presentation with discussion, exercises and the opportunity for individuals to gain information and confidence in working with Sex Offender issues
