GREY CELL TRAINING PRESENTS Mentally Disordered Offenders This
one-day foundation course aims to increase participants’ awareness of
the definitions, legislation and management of mentally disordered
offenders in the statutory arena. Course 222 - Mentally Disordered Offenders During
the one-day course members will: a) By way of discussion and group exercise explored the definition of the mentally disordered offender b) By way of presentation and exercise identified and discussed various common mental health disorders c) Defined the difference, by exercise and presentation, between ‘mad’ and ‘bad’ when assessing and managing offenders d) Explored the pertinent legislation regarding mental disorder and offending e) Examined a case study to assist in the management of a mentally disordered offender f) Received handouts and laminated checklist to assist in the consolidation of learning when returning to the workplace Course Date Wednesday 14th January 2009 9.30
