From the Midlands and the North.

Take the M5 - signposted "The South West" Leave the M5 at junction 25 (signposted Taunton) then at Blackbrook Roundabout, take the first exit on to the A358 (signposted Yeovil) Proceed along the A358 - please note there are several speed cameras along this stretch of road. At Horton Cross, stay on the A358 - signposted "Services" and "Chard". Enter Chard - past the Focus DIY store on your left - and at the next major junction, turn right on to the A30. Proceed through Chard, out the other side, and then take the third left turn. This is still within the 50mph speed zone - the first exit has a small round thatched cottage on the junction, the second is a narrow lane that merges on your left, and the one you want is just on the brow of a hill, so difficult to see until you actually arrive - signed to Stockland / Wambrook. Because the main road veers round to the right here, you are, in effect, going straight on ! You are now about 5 miles away from Furley. The road is narrow - be prepared to reverse to allow passing if necessary. Continue on this road - past the Ferne Animal Sanctuary - and take the next turn on the right, signposted Stockland and Membury. Carry on down the hill, and as the road narrows, you will see a sign on the left for Membury and Furley. Take this turn, and follow the narrow lane as far as you can - at the "T" junction (with a phone box on your right) - turn Left - signposted "Ford". Go past Hookhill Farm and Thorne Farm which is on a sharp right-hand bend. After about 500 metres, Goodmans House and Furley Cottages are on your left.

From the West.

From either the A38 or the M5, take the A30 to the East of Exeter. At the junction of the A30 / A303 - stay on the A30, entering Yarcombe. Just before Chard - and just after the 50 mph speed zone - turn very sharp right on to James Lane. This is on the brow of a hill and a bend - signed to Stockland / Wambrook. If you find yourself entering Chard, you have gone too far. You are now about 5 miles away from Furley. The road is narrow - be prepared to reverse to allow passing if necessary. Continue on this road - past the Ferne Animal Sanctuary - and take the next turn on the right, signposted Stockland and Membury. Carry on down the hill, and as the road narrows, you will see a sign on the left for Membury and Furley. From London and the South East.

Take the M3, signposted "The South West". From the South - Sidmouth and Seaton, Take the A358 to Axminster. At the Roundabout (just after the Tesco Garage) take the first left, and after half a mile, take the right turn - signposted Membury.

From Bridport & Lyme Regis Take the A35 - proceed past Axminster - cross the River Axe, and then turn right (signposted back into Axminster. Take the first Left - signposted Membury.

Follow the lane for about 2 miles, when you will join another lane from Axminster. Keep going - past the sign for Tolcis and the next two left lanes - take the next left signposted Membury. In Membury, at the cross-roads (Post Office on your left) - take the lane on your right. After about three miles, you will go past Hookhill Farm and Thorne Farm which is on a sharp right-hand bend. After about 500 metres, Goodmans House and Furley Cottages are on your left.

Axmouth Harbour can accommodate boats up to about 9 metres by prior arrangement. Please let us know if that is your preferred means of arrival !
