Friends of Mullan Mews
Friends of Mullan Mews Tenants Committee was formed by a collective of tenants, tenants' families and friends, volunteers, Clanmil Housing and Belfast Trust staff. The objectives of the Committee are;
-
To promote mutual understanding and respect and to encourage a harmonious environment.
-
To promote the interests of tenants in need due to economic, physical and social circumstances in the area covered by the association on matters concerning housing, the environment, social and community life of the scheme and any other areas of interest to the tenant.
-
To promote recreational and leisure pursuits for those in need.
-
To seek ways of raising funds to support the association and the objectives of the membership who are in need.
-
To ensure that all members are consulted regularly and are encouraged to participate.
The Committee consists of a Chairperson, a Secretary, Treasurer and normally up to 5 other members. Each member votes for each office bearer.
All tenants are members of Friends of Mullan Mews. The Committee wishes to maximise tenants' participation in Committee meetings. Tenants who are unable to attend Committee meetings are always kept informed and Committee office bearer’s actively seek the tenants' opinions and views to put forward to Committee meetings. Minutes of all meetings are available. Decisions are made by consensus but in the absence of consensus, decisions are reached by simple majority vote by those Officers present.
All money granted to or raised by the Friends of Mullan Mews are used for the benefit of the tenants. All expenditure is agreed by the Committee in advance and formally approved and minuted.
