Boats
Titanic & Olympian
Building on the success and interest shown when we produced the model of the RMS Titanic, Gilbow (Holdings) Ltd was proud to present a series of ships built for the White Star Line.
The Olympic and Britannic were the sister ships to the Titanic and both vessels operated successfully as fittings, repainted and prepared for other uses. The Britannic was converted into a hospital ship and was used in the Mediterranean until it was mined and sank. The Olympic was used as a troop carrier and was painted in a very vivid dazzle camouflage livery which we will feature later this year, item 10005. After the war Olympic was refitted as a luxury liner and eventually become part of the Cunard fleet.
The five superb models in this range have been meticulously designed and decorated to capture the splendour and spirit of these beautiful ships. Our 1:1750 scale ships are approximately 6" long, and feature a high level of detail including cranes, masts, rigging, deck air ventilators, lifeboats and derricks, rudder, stabilisers and propellors. Each model is presented mounted on a plinth set within a clear plastic protective cover.
