Organised Events:
We at The Bike Barn just love organising special events for all the family throughout the year. At the end of all rides children can be rewarded with organic ice-cream, whilst adults may like to also try a glass of our locally produced Coast to Coast real ale in the panoramic beer garden when back at the farm.
The cost is £10 per person (child or adult). Refreshments are available from Elm Farm on your return. Bring Suitable clothing, bike & helmets (or hire them from The Bike Barn )
Unless otherwise stated you should arrive at The Bike Barn for no later than 9.45am for a 10.00am departure. The events last for approximately 3 hours.
You must book in advance on +44 (0)1209 891498 and we recommend you contact us the day before the event to confirm it is proceeding as cancellations may occur due to bad weather or other unforseen circumstances. If an event is cancelled by us, your monies will be refunded in full.

Kids Mountain biking Adventure; Blackberry Powered! Free blackberries! Full of natural stimulants and antioxidants, this ride is aimed at the budding younger rider, our fully qualified and experienced SMBLA Instructors deliver a fun introduction to mountain biking. This session will work towards improving your child’s riding abilities, in a safe yet exciting way, to enhance their enjoyment of off road riding. And blackberries. This is recommended for 10-14yr olds.

Tolgus Tin and Ghost Cycle Ride A short ride along the Coast to Coast trail, and off down the new Tolgus trail, for a guided visit to the fascinating and famously haunted Tolgus Tin site. Here you are free to explore Tolgus Tin museum and have a wander around the popular Cornish Gold site and Treasure Park.

Mining History Ride on the Coast to Coast trail. Pedal back in to the bustling working harbour at Porteath, with its famous incline and harbour walls, then on through ancient mining sites and remnants, and over to the old Arsenic works at Poldice. Finally, learn about the recently restored workings at Wheal Peevor, before returning for a question and answer session over a welcome local real ale back in the Elm Farm beer garden. `

Navigation and trail / map interpretation for mountain bikers Improve your orienteering, direction-finding, course plotting and general map-reading skills with our fully qualified SMBLA Mountain bike Instructors. This session aims to build on existing general knowledge and experience to improve your enjoyment of trail cycling on and off the new Mineral Tramways network. Discover new areas to ride, find new trails, and learn to navigate with confidence.
