Network means different things to different people
but essentially, if refers to all the people with whom you come in regular
contact. These include the children who attend your centre's, their parents
/carers and of course our colleagues. Then there are our contacts In local
business circles, schools, councils and statutory agencies etc. All of
these add up to a considerable local influence, another term for "Network".
Networking undoubtedly flourishes when developed
through effective questioning techniques good training skills organisational
skills and a genuine interest in other people. For, although there
is no doubt that you can work a network to your benefit, an effective
networker is often motivated by a very real desire to help, to raise
standards, to get things done for the benefit of the under community
selflessly. It is that element of idealism that is a central element
in its success, for all productive business relationships are built
on trust. |
