Derbyshire Carers Association

Volunteers are used widely throughout the Association to assist members of staff with their work. We have a growing group of volunteers doing a variety of tasks from administration, to the facilitation of Support Groups, helping at meetings, working on IT and graphic design and even designing and maintaining this website :-)

Carers volunteer to be representatives on our Management Committee and even represent us at special events and lectures to students. Many of the volunteers meet together as a group to discuss their needs and objectives.

We are currently looking to recruit a volunteer to support our small admin team based at our Head Office situated just outside Ripley town Centre. 

This person will help us to maintain / improve an assortment of admin electronic computer systems.  Support and training reference programmes to be used will be offered, i.e. word, excel, access, etc.

Our organisation is committed to supporting, in a variety of ways, unpaid/informal Carers caring for a relative or friend living in Derbyshire, and work towards reducing the stress and isolation often experienced by carers as a result of their demanding day to day caring role.

This volunteer will be supported in becoming involved in a variety of different tasks, including putting together welcome packs which are sent out to all newly registered Carers, answer incoming telephone calls, typing labels, help to maintain several databases, a small amount of support for accounts department would be useful (experience of SAGE accounting system would be useful but not essential).
