The 60+ Carers Wellbeing Breaks Project
Derbyshire Carers Association is delighted to confirm we have been successful in our application for funding from The Princess Royal Trust for Carers and Crossroads Care for the 60+ Carers Wellbeing Promotion Project and have received a cash boost.
The funding will enable to us to offer opportunities to Carers aged 60+ to access breaks from their demanding caring role in a variety of different ways, as detailed below.
Carers will be eligible to access training which aims to increase confidence in their ability to carry out their day to day caring role. The very successful C.A.T.C.H. (Carers Advice and Training for Confidence in Health) programme will be offered in different areas throughout Derbyshire.
There will be an invitation for Carers aged 60+ to attend organised events and activities throughout the year. Please click to see details of our exicting first event EASTER AT CHATSWORTH.There will be more information to follow reference our other events and C.A.T.C.H. workshop opportunities.
Carers meeting the criteria will be eligible to apply for one off grants up to £200 towards short breaks, activites or even equipment which they believe will offer them a help towards respite from their caring role. Examples would be payment towards gym membership, help towards the cost of gardening, pamper days, tumble dryers or any equipment connected to a hobbie maybe.
These opportunities are available to all Carers living in Derby, Derbyshire and Glossop who are aged sixty or over.
To celebrate the project we are holding a launch at the Chesterfield Carers Centre, 69 West Bars, Chesterfield, Derbyshire ST40 1BA on Friday 2nd March from 11.00am to 1.00pm. As we are already booking events it will be a great opportunity to find out about some of the events that we have planned and the grants that are available.
We really hope that you can come along and find out more.
