Derbyshire Carers Association

The Annual General Meeting of Derbyshire Carers Association took place on Thursday 24th September 2009 in the Members Room at County Hall, Matlock with approximately 60 people including Carer Members, Trustees, Professionals and Staff.

Helen Robinson introduced herself as the new Chief Executive taking over from Roland Brown who retired at the end of March this year. Christine Bell chaired the meeting.

The AGM took on a different format this year, where following the formal business of the evening, all people present were invited to form separate groups to provide their input and thoughts on contributions towards the next three year Strategy for Derbyshire Carers Association. Some very positive worthwhile suggestions were made at the feedback session following this relaxed yet useful exercise, which included moving the organisation forward by possible identity re-branding, campaigning, marketing towards increasing Carer membership, plus many other excellent suggestions.
