Children's Liturgy
The Children's Liturgy is a celebration of the Liturgy of the Word focussed for children. It is essentially the same Liturgy of the Word as is being used by the main congregation in the Church.
The Children's Liturgy aims to let childrten gather to hear and respond to God's Word in a way they can understand (it is neither a creche, not playtime). We are always looking for parents (or any other adults or older children) to join the Children's Liturgy Rota (subject to CRB check). Extradordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
Special Ministers undergo a period of training by a priest appointed by the Bishop before they are commissioned. They are expected to attend an annual Day of Recollection and paryer.
Their ministry is to:
- Assist with the distribution fo Holy Communion from the Ciborium or Chalice during Mass
- Carry Holy Communion to the sick or housebound
- Expose the Blessed Sacrament for a period of Adoration.
Members of the congregation are usually invited by the Parish Team to become ministers. For further information please conatct one of the following - or ring the Parish Office.

Readers
Vatican II restored the Liturgy of the Word to its rightful place whereby with the Liturgy of the Eucharist they form one single act of worship. The importance of the ministry of reading is that the reader is actually part of the dialogue between God and his people. The readers task is to proclaim those parts of the Word of God which make way for the Gospel, prepare for it, and set the scene so that the Gosepl can be heard and reach the hearts of the congregation..
