Welcome back Andy Moss

We welcome home Andy Moss, a student for the priesthood, who has made the Friary his base during college holidays. It is a great joy that during this Year of the priesthood we will celebrate with him his ordination to the priesthood in 2010 and his ordination as Deacon
on July 17th this year. During the Diaconate Ordination
Bishop Kieran will pray:

“Lord, send forth upon him the Holy Spirit, that he may be
strengthened by the gift of your sevenfold grace to carry outfaithfully the work of the ministry.
May he excel in every virtue: in love that is sincere, in concernfor the sick and the poor, in unassuming authority, in self discipline, and in holiness of life. May his conduct exemplify your commandments and lead your people to imitate his purity of life.
May he remain strong and steadfast in Christ, giving to the world the witness of a pure conscience. May he in this life imitate your Son, who came, not to be served but to serve, and one day reign with him in heaven.”

As part of our support of Andy we could make the above part of our daily prayer; remembering him, Deacon Andrew and all those who serve in this important ministry.

Singers and Musicians needed Bishop Kieran is confirming some of our Traveller children on Tuesday 30th June at 6.00pm in the Friary. Peter Olsen has kindly offered to play but he needs singers so if you can at all help to enhance this special occasion for the Travellers by bringing along an instrument or lending your voice you would be most welcome! If you can help please let Sr. Hannah know on 523796 Thank you.
APF Membership Appeal: Just over 100 of us signed up to become new members of the APF at last week-end’s masses – Thank you! There will be a meeting of the Local Secretaries of the parish, together with already existing promoters and new promoters, on Saturday 4th July starting at 10.45am (ending at 12.00pm) in the Parish Centre. Fr. Brian Oswald MHM will help to co-ordinate this meeting.
Parish Bereavement Support Group If you have lost a loved one and would like an opportunity to talk and share your experiences with someone who also bereaved, please come along to our next meeting on Tuesday 30th June 2 -4pm in the Parish room at Our Lady’s. A very warm welcome awaits you.
St. Edward’s Fundraising for St Wilfrid’s School Chapel – A big thank you to everyone who supported our Summer Quiz evening at St Bernadette’s last Friday, which raised a further £225.
Invitation Seminarian Andy Moss will be ordained to the diaconate by Bishop Kieran on Friday 17th July at 7pm, in the Friary. All parishioners are warmly invited to attend the Mass and the following reception.

Sunday Lunches From Alison “We are looking for 2-3 people to supervise the Sunday lunches for the needy once a month on a rota basis. This includes opening/closing St Bernadette’s /Friary Hall, and co-ordinating with the team on duty. For more information please contact Alison on 409041.”
