Dr Temalesi King assisted in advising her country (Fiji) in policy and planning dental services. As a team member, she organised the scientific programme and evaluation of the Pacific directors of an Oral health meeting, held in New Caledonia in 2000. This meeting was an attempt to gauge the performance of oral health in the Pacific, form partnership to help struggling areas and network for new knowledge and ways of tackling issues. She presented the outcomes at the 2003, FDI Congress in Sydney, Australia.
Dr King also worked closely with the Health Promotion Unit at the Ministry of Health, Fiji, and the Colgate Company in the areas of preventing oral diseases and bringing Primary Health Care to the villages and urban areas of the community.
